Halo fans, rejoice! Season 5 of Halo Infinite, titled Reckoning, is set to launch next week and promises an array of exciting new features. One of the highlights of Season 5 is the reintroduction of the popular game mode, Extraction, which first made its appearance in Halo 4. This revamped version of Extraction is a five-vs-five objective-based mode where two teams compete to extract crates faster than their opponents. To achieve this, players must plant a beacon and defend it until the crate is safely whisked away.

In addition to the thrilling Extraction mode, Season 5 also introduces two new maps for the competitive mode, Arena. The first map, Prism, takes players into a stunning cave environment adorned with glowing purple crystals. These crystals can be strategically shot to send damaging shards towards opponents, adding an extra layer of tactical gameplay. The second map, Forbidden, evokes nostalgia for Halo 2’s beloved Lockout map. It features a mysterious stone temple that promises thrilling engagements and heart-pounding action.

Season 5 of Halo Infinite brings a range of fresh cosmetics, including some inspired by the iconic Flood aliens. Fans can expect to see helmets and armor suits adorned with Giger-esque tentacle-like designs and eerie-looking skulls. These new additions perfectly capture the essence of the Flood’s sinister nature. What’s particularly exciting is that the Flood-inspired gear won’t be limited to specific sets. Season 5 allows players to freely equip these intimidating helmets and armor coatings across every armor core, adding a new level of personalization to the game.

A More Rewarding Battle Pass Experience

In response to player feedback, Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass has undergone significant improvements. Season 5 introduces a reworked Battle Pass that aims to make progression less of a grind and more enjoyable. Players can now earn Battle Pass XP not only in standard modes but also in custom games. This change ensures that players have more flexibility and diversity in their gameplay choices. Moreover, the number of tiers in the Battle Pass has been reduced to 50, with 20 of them being free to all players. Each new level will offer multiple items, streamlining the unlocking process. Additionally, tiers will now include both left and right shoulders, saving players the hassle of unlocking them separately.

For the creative souls in the Halo community, Season 5 introduces an exciting addition to the Forge mode. With the new Forge AI toolkit, players can incorporate AI characters into their custom maps, opening up endless possibilities for creating captivating PVE experiences. Creators will have access to new objects, palettes, and other options to enhance their creations and push the boundaries of their imagination.
