EA and Respawn have recently released a breakdown of notable statistics about Star Wars Jedi Survivor players. Among the many interesting observations about the game, one curious statistic stands out. Nearly 500 people have died to Rick the Door Technician, a character that was intended as a joke.

Rick appears deep in the Jedi: Survivor story, after players have spent significant time upgrading their character, Cal, and mastering the game’s controls. Rick shows up just after a massive arena battle that requires players to face hordes of stormtroopers and multiple Imperial sentry droids. While Rick is considered a ‘boss’, he does very little damage and can be defeated in one hit.

Despite this, according to the infographic, 489 players have managed to be killed by Rick. In comparison, the Jedi Survivor rancor, an actually challenging foe, has claimed over 9 million victims. It’s unclear how players managed to die to Rick. They may have emerged from the previous fight with low health and took an unfortunate first shot from Rick. Some may have run away from the boss health bar and fallen into a hole. Others may have intentionally died to find out what would happen, as seen in a popular YouTube video.

Other Strange Stats

Apart from the mystery of Rick, the infographic also revealed other strange statistics about the game. For example, the most popular hair and beard combo is the crew cut and short beard. This is surprising, considering that Cal is already arguably lacking in personality, and giving him a crew cut only makes him less distinct.

The infographic also showed that 31% of players are using the single blade lightsaber stance, while the crossguard stance, which is considered the best in the game, is only used by 7% of players. This can be attributed to the fact that the crossguard stance is not unlocked until later in the game, while every player has access to the single blade stance from the beginning.

The strange statistics of Star Wars Jedi Survivor reveal some interesting insights into player behavior and preferences. While some of these stats are inexplicable, they still provide an amusing look at the quirks and idiosyncrasies of the game’s player base.
